Man Arraigned For Theft

A 21-year old man, Akorowosi Johnson, has been charged with theft at the Cele Magistrate’s Court, Isolo, Lagos State.

The accused was alleged to have stolen 33 pieces of mosquito nets at Continental Logistic Limited located on 447/449 Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Cele, Itire.

Johnson was charged with a one-count charge of theft, an offence punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap.C.38, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.

Count one of the charge reads: “That you, Akorowosi Johnson on 16 February, 2011 at about 3.30 p.m. at Continental Logistic Limited of No. 447/449 Apapa-Oshodi Expressway Cele, Itire in the Itire Magisterial District did steal 33 pieces of mosquito nets, value unknown, properties of Continental Logistic Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap.C.38, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Christiana Ikpatt granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till 4 April, 2011.
