Banire Cup Final Holds Sunday

The final of Muiz Banire Soccer Championship will hold on Sunday at the Archbishop Aggrey Sports Centre, Mushin, Lagos.

The final will be played between West Marshal Football Club and FC Robo. Both teams are rivals as far as football is concerned in Mushin.

There is no doubt that the final will be a tension soaked match  as both teams will come to the match venue with their teeming fans to cheer them to victory.

Speaking ahead of Sunday clash, FC Robo chairman, Emmanuel Osahon, described the final as a mother of all battle. He  urged his players to approach the match with all seriousness.

“It is going be a fierce battle match for both sides. It has been a long time we met our opponents in a final like this. This is the time we need to show them that we are the masters as far as grassroots football is concerned in Mushin,” he said.

The former goalkeeper of Union Bank urged his players not to be complacent, adding that they should  play attacking football throughout the encounter. “My players need to remain focus and they should not be too complacent because we have come a long way and it will be  disappointing  if we fail to lift the cup,” he said.

Match Coordinator, Rasheed Abiola Ajose, warned the two teams to play the game according to the rules and regulations. He said any fan that misbehaved during the match will be punished.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Muiz Banire, who is the sponsor, and other sports philanthropists are expected to grace the grand finale.
