Suspected Robber Caught With Three Rifles, Car

The police in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a robbery suspect with three AK47 rifles.

The suspect, Ejike Eze, was arrested by anti-robbery team from Idimu Police Station following information from members of the public.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Lagos State Police image maker, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, a Deputy Superintendnet of Police (DSP), said that immediately the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Idimu Police Station got the information, he despatched his anti-robbery team to go after the suspect who was later arrested with a vehicle marked PV 280 KJA at Idimu. When the vehicle was searched, the police were amazed to find three AK47 rifles, 10 magazines loaded with 300 rounds of 7.62mm calibre live ammunition.

The suspect, according to the police image maker, is now helping the police in their investigation at the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti Yaba.

In a similar development, anti-robbery policemen from the SCID, Yaba have arrested one Rasaq Ogedegbe with one locally made double barrel shotgun and two live cartridges along Ailegun Road, Ejigbo, following a tip-off.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspect, with another now at large, have earlier robbed a victim of valuables  along Ejigbo Road before information got to the police.

The fleeing suspect was said to have taken to his heels when he sighted the police  leaving behind Rasaq Ogedegbe who was promptly arrested and taken to the station where he has made some confessional statement to the police.

The police have, however, vowed to track down the fleeing suspect as soon as possible.
