Serial Killer, 2 Others Remanded

Detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, have arraigned a suspected serial killer, Adigun Muda, 26, alongside two other persons, Wale Salisu,19, and Akeem Kehinde (aka Lesi),37, before an Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Adigun Muda was alleged to have killed three persons between June 2010 and January 2011.

He was alleged to have killed Musibau Ajao on 6 June, 2010, at 11, Olateju Street, Mushin, and he allegedly conspired with Wale Salisu and Akeem Kehinde to kill  Adeshina Oshin, 40, on 21 November, 2010 at Kayode Street, Mushin. He is also alleged to have killed Amusa Adisa, 40, on 13 January, 2011 at Kayode Street, Mushin.

The three suspected killers were charged with conspiracy, felony, murder, and attempted murder, which according to the Police prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Essien, are punishable under section 324, 319(i), 320 of the Criminal Code Cap C17 vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

The charge against Adigun reads: “That you Adigun Muda and others at large on 6 June, 2010 at about 3p.m at 11, Olateju Street, Mushin, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill Musibau Ajao by shooting him with a gun and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 319(i) of the Criminal Code Cap C17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,2003.”

Another charge against him and Kehinde reads: “That you Adigun Muda, Akeem Kehinde (a.k.a Lesi) and others at large on 21 November,2010 at Onipanu, Kayode Street, Mushin in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill Adeshina Oshin alias Ajah, male, aged 40, by shooting him with a gun and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 319(i) of the Criminal Code Cap C17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.”

And the charge against him and Salisu reads: “That you Adigun Muda, Wale Salisu, and others at large on 13 January, 2011 at Kayode Street, Mushin in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill Amusa Adisa, male, aged 40, by shooting him with a gun and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 319(i) of the Criminal Code Cap C17 vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.”

II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.”

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against them but their plea was not taken.

The magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Olajuwon, ordered that they be remanded in prison.

The case was adjourned till 28 April, 2011 for trial.
