Sunshine and Dolphins confirmed their top rating with impressive performance on the road over the weekend at struggling Premier League rivals, Crown and JUTH respectively.

However, Dolphins were more successful as they secured an important road trip victory at JUTH on Saturday to extend their lead to eight points, while Sunshine shared the spoils on a similar trip at Crown to reduce the lead by one point the following day.

“Dolphins should know that they’re just on top temporarily. The season is not over and don’t forget that we were equally on top of the log at a time.

“There are lots of matches ahead and in football anything can happen. Besides lots of teams have improved on the log,” Ogunbote said.

The former Gateway United coach maintained that his team would continue to push for points in the matches ahead.

“The team will go back to work so as to maintain our impressive performance. We were close to picking an away win, but the strikers didn’t target against Crown. “As part of our plans to push for the title, we intend to use the break to boost the quality of the team,” he stated.

Ogunbote played without influential stars Cletus Itodo, Ibrahim Babale as well as former Crown forward, Harrison Egbune, on a day league top scorer, Ibrahim Ajani, added another goal to increase his tally to nine this term.
