Glo Extends Prepaid Roaming To US

Globacom has announced the extension of its prepaid roaming service to the United States and five other countries. The five countries are Israel, India, Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein.

This brings to 14 the number of countries where Glo Prepaid Roaming service is available. The other destinations are United Kingdom, France, Spain, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Belgium, Ukraine and Republic of Benin.

“Our prepaid subscribers who travel to any of these countries will be able to enjoy Voice and SMS Roaming on the Glo network,” Chief Operating Officer of Glo Gateway, Pankaj Pradhan, said. He expressed delight particularly with the extension of the service to the United States, considering its strategic importance as well as the heavy traffic of Nigerians to the country. “It is an exciting experience as we have very affordable and special prepaid roaming rates in the US for Voice and SMS. Glo Top-Up vouchers are also available in retail outlets across the US, thereby making it easy and convenient for subscribers to recharge while in that country” the COO added.

He explained that the extension of prepaid roaming service to more countries was in accordance with the company’s desire to offer more value and convenience to subscribers. “Our commitment is to ensure that our subscribers are able to enjoy our services wherever they are. We want to ensure that millions of our subscribers on the prepaid platform are able to enjoy Glo services outside the country like their postpaid counterparts. This is why we are extending prepaid roaming to more destinations,” Pradhan said.
