Ikosi-Ejirin Suspends Two Councilors

The legislative arm of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area, Lagos state, southwest, Nigeria, has suspended two of its councilors.

The suspended councilors are Mr. Wasiu Lawal and Lateef Adebayo, the Deputy Chief Whip and Minority Leader respectively.

In a statement issued by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Banji S.O., the two councilors were alleged to have engaged in anti-party activities by romancing with the Labour Party.

They were also accused to have threatened the life of the council chairman, Mr. Adetola Oluwaseun Ganiu and Mr. Muyideen Badmus, the Leader of the Legislative arm of the local government, as well as accused them of raising false alarm and causing political disorder and unrest in the community.

The Clerk of the House said their suspension is indefinite.
