According to the governor, “for many years, we have shared the vision that we can take this state to the next level with the determination that we can do it, by dint of hard work, being focused and above all, with prayers for direction by the Almighty. With all these grassroots development-based programmes, designed in a way that gone are the days that government will from the seat of power determine and dictate the type of infrastructure to give to the communities without knowing what they actually desire, Ondo State will in no distant future become the benchmark for community development in Nigeria.

“Whatever efforts any government is making in whatever form to gain public acceptance, at end of the day, what matters most is the welfare of the people. That is why I am appealing to our people to ensure that there is peace in the land before, during and after the general elections in April 2011. This country will be better for it if all stakeholders in the electoral process especially INEC, security agencies and others make serious efforts and be truly committed to ensuring credible elections that will earn Nigeria a position of respect in the comity of democratic nations” he said.

Mimiko also performed the commissioning and ground breaking of five other projects in Ondo West and Ile Oluji-Okeigbo local government areas. In Ile Oluji/Okeigbo,  the governor commended the Caretaker chairman of the Council, Mr. Niran Akinniyi, a surveyor for completing meaningful developmental projects including the construction of the N75million Ile-Oluji Housing Estate, the redevelopment of the Odolua market, the Okeigbo Motor Park as well as the Ayegbaju/Oja Oba road and the Oduduwa lane 3 roads among others, saying that real development was now at the grassroots.
