Top juju music act, Dipo Gatos, is opening a new ultra-modern music recording studio tomorrow, Saturday 19 February in Lagos.

The studio boasts of the latest in music production equipment tomorrow, Saturday, 19 February in Lagos at an event which is expected to be graced by music stars from different music genres in Nigeria.

The recording studio, Di Gatos Studio, according to Dipo, is a multi-million naira project located at Ijesha Road, Surulere, Lagos and put in place to cater for the needs of music professionals who value “excellence and creativity.”

Equipped with analogue and digital facilities, Dipo informed that the studio ranks among the best in the country as it boasts of the latest machinery and studio mixers from abroad.

“Any musician who knows his onions will be very happy with what we have put in place. I discovered that there is need to set up a music studio that will rival the best in the world and I decided to import the best studio equipment from abroad to make the studio highly competitive and attractive to music professionals,” he said.

According to the immediate past governor of Lagos State branch of Association of Juju Musicians of Nigeria (AJUMN), the studio will be used for recording albums and for conversion of cassette tape recordings to compact discs.

An arm of his music company, Di Gatos Rentals, is also involved in sound equipment rental.

Dipo, who has spent 25 years in music business, is also launching his latest album, Awesome, on Sunday, 20 February, at

Army Officers’ Mess, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.

Expected to honour Dipo with their presence are several music celebrities including King Sunny Ade, Professor Y.K. Ajao and Queen Ayo Balogun, among others.

Awesome, a follow up to his previous effort, My mother, was recorded at GWS, Ogba, Lagos. It boasts of tracks like My Father, Ori, E Yah Weh, etc.
