At least 30,000 abused sex slaves die yearly as a result of different ailment and maltreatment while a staggering 800,000 sex slaves are trafficked annually worldwide.

According to the 13 February, 2011 issue of NEWS OF THE WORLD, 13 million children have been enslaved worldwide. The sex slaves are usually from developing countries of the world including Africa and Eastern Europe.

The newspaper reported the travails of an escapee, Ukrainian Irina Litvinova, 22 who was tricked to London by traffickers who later raped and assaulted her. She was dumped in a brothel where she was forced to have sex with an average of 12 men daily.

Irina said: “I thought I would be working in a nice hotel and earning good money, but the kind man who arranged it turned into a nasty guy.”

A recent police report said that the victim is just one out of 4,000 sex slaves trafficked into Britain every year.

Irina said after leaving school in her small town, Chermigov in Ukarine, she worked in a restaurant to support herself. Before the misadventure, the orphan said she never had sex or a boyfriend. Two scouts approached the restaurant and claimed they could help young girls to work and make a fortune abroad. She jumped at the opportunity thinking her fortune has finally changed for the better.

According to the victim, the scout collected 150 pounds from her. He claimed the money will be used to process a British visa. He also told Irina that they would make the trip by road. Five other girls also made the journey with their guide who told them his plan was to make them comfortable before his return to Ukraine.

During the two day journey, they were ordered to keep quiet. They later realised they were on an illegal trip. But Irina thought she was still on her way to making fortune in a foreign land.

The reality of their situation dawned on Irina and her co-travellers when they were successfully smuggled to London and they were ordered to obey every instruction to the letter or they would be killed if they tried to escape. Their erstwhile friend and kind scout told them they are now his property as they are now prostitutes.

She said she was beaten to a pulp. Terrified, she was handed a make up, tattered dress even when she was writhing in pains on the floor after she was kicked and thoroughly assaulted by her captors.

In the morning, Irina said the scout called Sesha threatened her with a knife and raped her. Later another Ukrainian met  with Sasha and discussed a fee. “They said I was worth 1,000 pounds because of the brining on my body,” she stated.

She was later taken to a brothel in Brighten where she was forced to have sex with 12 men daily. After about four and a half months, she developed skin rashes which was putting off customers. She was then allowed to go to the hospital. There, doctors discovered she had syphilis and was four and a half months pregnant. She knew the baby belonged to the scout, Sasha.

She later found herself in the midst of sex slave girls from Romania, Russia and Albania. Seven of them shared a mattress in a room. They were made to work around the area in brothels.

However, luck smiled on Irina one day when their guard forgot to lock the door. From toilet she fled the place. She informed the police of her predicament. She later gave brith to a baby girl, Julia. But Irina could talk ten years after her ordeal when she had won U.K residency.

Similarly, P.M.NEWS report of Friday, 4 February confirmed that sex slavery was rampant in Nigeria.

According to the story, a 13-year old girl (names withheld) was brought by her aunt named Victoria from her homestead in Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria to Lagos to work as a sex slave in a hotel in Lagos.

After two months in the hotel, where she was forced to sleep with 10 men daily, the SS2 student fled the hotel. While roaming the streets as she tried to find her way back to Akwa Ibom, a kind Nigerian took her to a police station.

The teenager narrated to policemen how her aunt tricked her to Lagos that she would get her a good school in Lagos. But Victoria took her to a hotel in Lagos and introduced her to prostitution.

The aunt was always around to collect the day’s  proceeds of N1,000 per men who had sex with her.

The girl told P.M.NEWS she absconded from the hotel because she was suffering from severe pains in her private part. When she reported to her aunt, she was told to work harder without paying any attention to her health.

The police later arrested the manager of the hotel in Ejigbo, Lagos and ordered him to produce Victoria who had fled.

But the manager was granted bail while the search for Victoria continued. The police have returned the teenager to her village in Akwa Ibom.
