Nathaniel Boys Football Club have won their protest against Lagos Island East.
The team were awarded three points in their match against Lagos Island East, who they alleged fielded ineligible player, Idris Ishola Lawal, during an encounter at the Campos Sports Centre, Lagos Island which ended 2-2.
After the disciplinary committee looked into the matter, Lagos Island East were found gulty and were told to pay the sum of N150,000 and write a letter of apology to the their opponents for violating the rules of the game.
Reacting to the ruling, Lagos Island East supervisor for Agric and Sports, Hakeem Bisiriyu, who spoke to PM Sports, expressed shocked over the decision taken by the organisers.
He insisted that their opponents lied to the organisers and won undeserved three points, saying that they will take the matter to Lagos FA for justice.
” We were amazed when our opponents wrote a letter of protest over the player we used in the match we played against them. The player in question, Idris Ishola Lawal, has been playing for the council since the competition started,” he said .
However, in a related development, Lagos Mainland lost their appeal against Eti Osa LG.
