Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, GOS, has applauded Lagosians for leading the pack  in the ongoing voter registration exercise across the country.

His commendation came on the heels of the released result of registered voters in  each state of the federation by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  on Thursday, with Lagos State leading with 2,668,472 would-be-voters.

The former member of the House of Representatives, who was full of praises for the  Lagos residents for their participation in the exercise, however implored those that  have not registered to do so before the expiration of the exercise. “Your card is  your weapon to victory when you exercise your franchise at the polls come April.

”Rigging starts from the voters list and this is why obtaining your card becomes a  weapon and an opportunity to vote for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the  forthcoming general election,” said GOS.

According to the former chairman of the old Mushin Local Government, Nigerians have  a golden opportunity in April to get their own victory in a system that failed for  years to reflect their choices.

He therefore joined the call for an extension of the two-week period designated for  the voter’s registration exercise, to accommodate those that are yet to register.

Speaking on the chances of the ACN in the April polls, GOS said that judging from  the party’s performance so far in the delivery of democratic dividends in Lagos  State, no other party had performed better.

He added that Lagos State is a model for Nigeria and the party to beat as far as the  forthcoming election is concerned.
