Employers of Labour in Nigeria are about to be celebrated in a special way as they  will now be awarded for their achievements and contribution to the progress of their  employees and the various sectors of the economy.

Tagged ‘EMPLOYERS-OF-CHOICE AWARDS’, the annual awards is a complete celebration of  employers of labour across industries, all sectors and geo-political regions of   Nigeria, who consistently prioritise the welfare of their people even as they  continue to grow their businesses.

The awards event is of high degree of integrity and transparency with a view to  ensuring only deserving firms, corporations and entrepreneurs emerge as winners in  over 40 categories.

Organised by Multi-Talent Heritage and Associates (MTHA), the awards aim at bringing  to fore the situation of the average Nigerian worker, reward excellent employee  welfare,  propagate the benefits of employee engagement and properly position  employers who treat their workers well as employers of choice to potential employees  amongst others.

Award criteria include employee remuneration, employee fringe benefits, workplace  ergonomics, workforce diversity programme, staff training and development, staff  turnover and some other areas of importance.

The Chief Judge of the awards panel is an erudite scholar of psychology from a  foremost university in the country to be supported by a team of high calibre  professionals from diverse backgrounds such as the legal profession, academia, human  resource practice, media and management consulting.

Nominees for the awards will be generated through newspaper adverts and other  advertising media such as facebook, twitter and several blog sites. You can also  vote across categories by sending emails to [email protected] or  [email protected] while adverts would be placed in the media for  voting in all categories.

The award categories include Employer of Choice (Oil and Gas), Employer of Choice  (Telecoms), Employer of Choice (Manufacturing), Employer of Choice (Tertiary  Education),and Employer of Choice (Secondary Education).

Others include Employer of Choice (Print Media), Employer of Choice (Electronic  Media), Employer of Choice (Advertising), Employer of Choice (Marketing  Communications) and numerous others.

The event is billed for March 2011 at MUSON Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, while it  will end at 8.00pm. Comperes will kick-start the event with some stand-up comedy and  a drama presentation. Awards will be presented to each winner after short citations.

Special guests include the Labour Minister, NLC President and other highly placed  individuals. There would be a short presentation on the sponsors; this will be in  appreciation of their gestures.

There will be live coverage of the event by a notable television station and also  have several television stations and independent producers on hand to cover the  event for broadcast at later dates. There would also be a gala night for Chief  Executive Officers of eventual winners at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island,  Lagos.
