Pandemonium broke out yesterday evening when some people suspected to be members of  a cult group known as Eiye Fraternity stormed Tai Solarin University of Education  (TASUED), Ijagun in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.

An eyewitness told P.M.NEWS that the cult group arrived the school in two 18-seater  buses and dropped off at the entrance of the school and started shooting into the  air to scare students and residents.

According to the eye witness, “we were at the photocopier shop when the boys arrived  and started shooting into the air. We were all running helter-skelter for our lives.  Though nobody was shot dead, the security men in the campus denied them access and  they engaged them in shooting and after which they ran away.”

When our correspondent visited the campus, residents of most towns within the campus  like Imaweje, Dale, Apapawa were in panic. The rampaging cult members were said to  have come on a revenge mission.

P.M.NEWS
findings revealed that there had been series of attacks by the cult groups  in the last two weeks. The Eiye group was fighting with another cult group known as  Aye, who, according to some people, had attacked members of the Eiye group and  killed some of them.

It was gathered that the crisis started late last year during the primary of the  People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ijebu-Ode Local Government at the Gateway  International Stadium where three persons were confirmed dead after the exercise.

Yesterday’s attack came on the heels of the murder two students from Sulaimon  College of Entrepreneur and Vocational Studies in Osose Ijebu.

Most students, as at this morning, could not pass through the normal route to the  campus because of the fear of being attacked. The students, however, passed through  the abandoned main entrance along the J-4/Ore road to enter the campus.

Effort to speak with the chief security officer of the institution proved abortive  as our correspondent was told that he was in a meeting.
