A 35-year-old man, Olusegun Ikusika on Wednesday appeared before an Apapa Senior Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing 80 goats valued at N560,000.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Uche Kalu, told the court that Ikusika committed the offence on Dec. 23, 2010 at about 5 p.m. at Ojoku/Maracan area of Olodi- Apapa, Lagos.
He said the accused, with others still at large, conspired and removed the goats from Mr. Ebun-Ola Ewonowo’s compound with a truck.
Kalu said the offence contravened Sections 383 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused, however, insisted on his innocence in the two-count charge of felony and stealing.
The Senior Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Shonubi, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000Â with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan. 31.
