Lagos State Deputy Governor, Sarah Sosan, on Wednesday said she would abide by her party’s decision on the choice of a running mate to Gov. Babatunde Fashola for the April poll.
She spoke against the backdrop of speculations that she might have been dropped by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for Mrs. Joke Orelope –Adefulure, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
“It is strictly a party decision and it is binding on every member.
“As a loyal party member, who has confidence in the party’s leadership, I assure you that whoever is nominated will enjoy my support.
“And I will always abide by the party‘s decision,†Sosan said in a statement obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The statement was signed by Mrs. Toro Oladapo, Assistant Director, Media, in the Deputy Governor‘s Office.
Sosan, who said she had not been officially informed by the party on the matter, added: “The party will make pronouncement on the matter at the right time.â€
On the ongoing voter registration, she urged INEC to address the hiccups which had characterised the exercise nationwide.
She also urged residents to come out in large numbers to register to enable them to elect leaders of their choice in the forthcoming elections.
