Rap star Ruggedman has gone on his knees pleading with old skool Juju music veteran, General Prince Adekunle for forgiveness over the copyright infringement of one of his evergreen songs Awodi without proper consent.
Showbiz Trends learnt that the rapper has solicited the assistance of Gbenga Adeyinka 1st to beg the General over the infringement allegation made against Ruggedman. He had drawn the ire of the juju music veteran when he sampled General Adekunle in his ‘diss’ song targeted at 9ice titled A word is enough for the 9ice.
But days after the track was released, reports of a law suit over copyright infringement emerged. Ruggedman then tried to reach the General but could not until he was lucky to connect with the man’s son through his Facebook page. It was learnt that on receipt of the young man’s phone number, Ruggedman’s manager got across to the General and a meeting was fixed for his house in Ketu, Lagos.
On the day of the meeting, the rapper went with Gbenga Adeyinka who interceded on his behalf. Adeyinka acknowledged that Ruggedman had offended the General and they came to ask for forgiveness. The general was said to have pardoned Ruggedman and even prayed for the rapper and his company.
