The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, voter registration exercise  is  yet to cope with the large population in Imeke town, Olorunda Local Council  Development Area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

Speaking at his home town after registering for the 2011 general election with his  wife, the community leader and ex-chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Olatunji  Ogabi  called on INEC state officials to provide additional polling units for the  community in order to accommodate all eligible adults.

Ogabi said: “Several letters have been written to INEC headquarters in Abuja in  respect of the said additional polling units, but all to no avail.”

He appealed to INEC to do all it can through the provision of additional DDC  machines in Imeke community.

Stressing the need for proper registration, Prince Ogabi said: “Our votes are our  voices and members of the public should turn out to participate in the ongoing voter  registration exercise.”

He also called on INEC to extend the date of the exercise.
