The Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Comrade  Monsurudeen Ashamu Olabode Ola, has told the people of the area to expect more  dividends of democracy from his administration this year.

According to a release issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Ayo Faloye, the chairman  gave the information during the commissioning of a new Maternity Centre in the area.

The chairman said last years, he was able to excel in his bid to develop the council  due to the cooperation and support of the people.

He said he was determined to do better this year by embarking on masses’ oriented  projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

Ola also commended the people of the council area for turning out en masse to  register ahead of the 2011 general elections, noting that the registration exercise  has improved tremendously.

He, however, called on those that are yet to register to do so immediately.

The council boss also said that the purchase of a heavy duty grading machine by the  council will allow for more access roads to be graded before the rainy season this  year.

He enjoined the people to continue to support his administration by paying their  taxes and other levies promptly into the coffers of the council.
