The President of New Era Foundation (NEF), Oluremi Tinubu has appointed Mr. Yemi Osilaja as executive director of the foundation.
Oluremi, wife of former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made the announcement after a meeting of the Governing Council of the foundation.
She disclosed that it became expedient to appoint a new head since she has decided to go into politics. Oluremi will be contesting for the Lagos Central Senetorial seat on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the forthcoming election.
She explained that the governing board of the foundation met and decided that spirited efforts should be made to get the New Era Youth Camp (NEYOCA) going.
To this end, the board decided to appoint an Executive Director to coordinate the activities of the foundation.
The NEF founder will, however, remain its president.
She expressed confidence that Osilaja would bring his experience to bear on the new role.
Oluremi said: “It is my hope by the grace of God that when I win the election, I will be confronted with various national issues.
That is why it has become necessary to appoint Mr. Yemi Osilaja to work with members of the Governing Council to keep the NEF flame burning.â€
Osilaja was the Executive Director, Hope Worldwide Nigeria, a global NGO, from where he retired last year.
He promised to continue the good work of the NEF President in addition to introducing fresh ideas that would encourage Nigerian youths to acquire skills that would improve their wellbeing.
