The Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Sola Adekunle has expressed concern over the technical hitches that have marred the voters’ registration exercise so far, and has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to quickly move to find a permanent solution to the hitches, to avoid disenfranchising the citizenry. He suggested that there was a need for an extension of the exercise.

According to a press release signed by Afolabi Olawale, State Information Officer, Alimosho Local Government, the chairman made this declaration after he was successfully registered three days after the commencement of the voter registration exercise in his Unit 47 polling unit. He called on residents of Alimosho to come out en-masse to register to enable them participate in the April elections.

Adekunle further called on the people of Alimosho Local Government to go out and exercise their civic rights and take their destiny in their hands. “Let our people go out and register. Apart from being the most civic thing to do, it is also a way of safeguarding the state from political armed robbers, so I want to appeal to the good people of Alimosho to take the exercise very seriously,” he said.
