Substitute Saviour Fidelis emerged hero of Kaduna United after his late equalizer earned the team a precious point at 3SC in a Nigeria Premier League, NPL, encounter last weekend at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Fidelis, a former player of 3SC started the match on the bench and replaced Femi Balogun to put his name in the history books.

Saturday’s draw made Kaduna United the first team to share the points at 3SC this season.

The Kaduna side equally preserved their record as the only team to have scored in every Premier League match at home and on the road.

“I dedicate this goal to God because I scored against my former club. I played for Shooting Stars in 2006, so you can understand my joy today,” Fidelis told SuperSport.com.

The goal is Fidelis’ first strike this season. Super Eagles Team ‘B’ star, Gbolahan Salami capitalised on a blunder by Kaduna United goalkeeper, Richard Ochayi, to score the opener on 61 minutes after several misses.

Salami’s effort came after a long drought since his brace on match day one against Sunshine Stars.

The experienced Ochayi, who frustrated 3SC forwards, however expressed excitement with the draw.

“I wanted to clear the ball, but it bounced and I missed,” Ochayi stated.

The match recorded two red cards to 3SC’s Musa Raphael for punching Anthony Michael, who had earlier fouled him.
