Otunba Yomi Ogunnusi, a House of Representatives candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Lagos has backed the call for a cut in the jumbo pay of lawmakers.
He stated this while celebrating his victory as the ACN candidate for House of Representatives to represent Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency.
“I will support moderation in allowances in the House of Representatives,” the business mogul and Chartered Accountant said.
Otunba Ogunnusi is a renowned fellow of ICAN and a philanthropist. Due to his contributions and support for security initiatives and educational advancement of the youths in Lagos State, Governor Fashola gave him an award in 2009.
He has contributed immensely to the development of his community and the state in general and to show appreciation the state government renamed the former Ojodu Road, Ogunnusi Road.
Recently, he donated five boreholes to his constituency and assisted in road maintenance, security and scholarship awards to his people.
Ogunnusi scored 85 per cent to emerge ACN candidate while Mr. Dayo Saka scored 70% to secure the ticket for the House of Assembly for the April 2011 general elections.
