She said their marriage on June 10, 1980 had failed to produce any child, despite several attempts, including a rigorous Intro-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)  process in London.

The petitioner said her husband eventually told her to relocate to London while he would remain in Lagos where he was working as a civil servant to enable  her make more money for fertility treatments.

She said: “I had to leave for London where I got a job as a junior doctor while he used to come regularly to visit me.

“We were maintaining the same account which was largely being funded by me and I thought everything was going well, even though I knew that there were going  to be temptations because we were living apart.”

“So I told him that I cannot continue with the marriage because as a doctor I cannot allow myself to be infected with HIV or any other disease.

“I have also instituted another law suit to try and recover all my assets purchased with my money in his name and I plead that the court should dissolve this  marriage,” she said.
