Despite the suspension order placed on the newly sworn-in Chairman of Amuwo –Odofin Local Government, Alhaja Quderat Dada by the Lagos State Chapter of  Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, she said that she is still in charge.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS at the Local Government secretariat yesterday  Dada said that she is yet to receive any letter or directive from either the party or  House of Assembly regarding the impeachment of the former Chairman of the council Comrade Ayodele Adewale.

She told P.M.NEWS that she was appointed by the legislative arm of the Local Government following the impeachment of the chairman.

“As you can see, I’m now in charge until I receive a contrary order.’’

When P.M.NEWS called at the Local Government’s secretariat there was heavy presence of security personnel comprising the police and Man’o War who were  screening  those going in and out of the secretariat.

The new chairman told P.M.NEWS that the security measure is to prevent any breakdown of law and  order.

“The council is secure and my immediate plan is to meet the market women, party leaders, citizens and others. The secretariat is calm. So, there is no cause  for alarm,’’ she said.

Comrade Ayodele Adewale was suspended following the resolution of the legislative arm of the Local Government, headed by the leader, Hon. (Mrs) F.I.Omotayo,  supported by Onimole Babatunde Yussuff, T.O Akindele, S.A. Akinsanya and Bello Olatunde.

The leadership of ACN on Monday in Lagos had announced the suspension of Dada and five councillors over what the party described as anti-party activities.
