Late arrival of election officials and materials marred the PDP House of Representatives primaries in Katsina State.
A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who monitored the primaries in Katsina, Jibia, Rimi, Kankia, Dutsin-ma, Mani, Daura, Mashi and Musawate, reports that by 2 p.m., election had yet to commence in any of the centres due to non-arrival of officials and materials.
It was observed that security had been beefed up at all the venues visited.
Some of the delegates told NAN in Rimi that they arrived at the venue of the primaries as early as 8.30 a.m.
In Jibia Local Government Area, the council chairman, Alhaji Aminu Lawal, who expressed concern over the delay in the conduct of the primaries, appealed to the delegates to be patience as the election would hold.
Efforts to contact the state PDP chairman, Alhaji Rabi’u Gambo, failed.
