Nigeria Premier League matches will return to the city of Jos after the cancellation of match day nine action between Juth and Kano Pillars, acting executive  secretary of the NPL, Tunji Babalola, has said.

Matches were played in nine centres last weekend except Jos due to the Christmas Eve explosions which affected the city.

“We’re satisfied with the situation in Jos now. Plateau United will play their home match at the Jos stadium this weekend,” Babalola told SuperSport.com  yesterday.

The struggling Plateau side will host rejuvenated Wafu Cup champions, Sharks on Saturday.

However, Babalola said no date has been fixed for the postponed match.

“Our task now is to reschedule this match before the end of January because Kano Pillars will begin their continental assignment,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Plateau United defender, Akpos Eborge, has expressed satisfaction with NPL’s decision.

“Jos is calm now,” said the defender who captained the club to the elite class.

Plateau United remain at the bottom of the log after the 1-0 defeat at Enugu Rangers.

The NPL was considering nearby Bauchi as a possible venue for the Jos teams before the recent decision.

Newly promoted Bukola Babes have since joined rivals, Gombe United at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

Bukola will play their first match in Bauchi against Warri Wolves in a match day ten action on Saturday.
