Karate Federation of Nigeria, KFN, has rolled out its programmes for the year 2011.
Secretary of the federation, Iyaluegbeghe Clement, said he is confident that the body will embark on sponsorship drive in order to execute all its programmes lined up for this year.
According to the scribe, there will be a University Karate Championship scheduled for February, which will help the National coaches to discover young talents that would represent Nigeria at the forthcoming All Africa Games
He said the federation will also organise Invitational Championship slated for Lagos State in April, Armed Forces Karate Championship in June and Karate National Classic and coaching course in Asaba in June.
He said all the programmes lined up for this year will allow the athletes prepare well for the All Africa Games scheduled for September in Mozambique.
Assessing the federation’s performance last year, Clement expressed satisfaction with the programmes carried out by KFN and promised to organise more championship this year than the previous years.
“I must say that the federation has done well compared to other federation in the last year. We were able to execute more than half of our programmes.And I pray that we would be able to continue the good job,†he said.
