President Goodluck Jonathan has written a letter of goodwill to the ailing leader of the defunct Biafra Republic, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

In the letter sent in care of the Nigerian High Commission to London, Jonathan who addressed the ailing Igbo leader affectionately as “My Dear Dim” wished Ojukwu a quick recovery on behalf of his family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The President added that he has been monitoring the progress Ojukwu is making towards recovery since he was evacuated to London for treatment.

“It is therefore a source of great relief for me to learn of the fact that you are getting better and very well on the way to recovery.

“It is my prayer that almighty God not only grants you complete recuperation, but that he also endows you with many more years of robust health, enduring strength and uncommon wisdom to enable you continue to avail our nation of your worthy endowments especially at this critical period in Nigeria’s developmental history.

“While looking forward to welcoming you home very soon, please accept, as always, the assurances of my highest esteem and warm personal regards, the President said in the letter he personally signed.
