My Interest In Ifo LG – Aspirant

Hon. Mutiu Sunday Bankole has declared his intention to run for the Ifo Local Government Chairmanship position in the forthcoming elections on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

Speaking with Political Platform, Bankole said he his determined to improve Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State, provide good governance as well as alleviate the suffering of the people.

“I’m determined to improve the local government, provide good governance and alleviate the suffering of the people. I was touched to serve my people because of the non performance of the present administration in Ifo local government.There is no meaningful development, therefore, the people need a change.

“This motivated me, I felt that I should take my time to contest, win and be a good leader and let the people feel what democracy means. That is one of my major reasons for contesting,” he said.

Bankole urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to maintain the level of transparency that has characterized its activities in the past months during the coming election.

He said part of the problem of elections in the country is the inability of the umpire to be transparent.

“A situation where the commission hoards important piece of information will not augur well for the credibility of the elections,” he said.

He said that the coming election will afford the electorates the opportunity of separating the wheat from the chaff through the ballot box and urged to turn up enmasse for the voters registration exercise and vote for the ACN.

“The first step in this direction is that all eligible Nigerians should turn up en masse for registration, go out and register please and do not abandon your civic responsibility.

“It is when you register and you vote that you become an active participant in the policies of this country,” he said.
