While other manufacturers are constantly revamping and improving its model line-up, Renault remained silent. Nigerians were waiting and Alliance Autos, sole distributor to Renault brand of vehicles kept assuring. Thankfully, things got better with the introduction of an exceptionally practical and comfortable Logan MCV, available as a 5- or 7-seater which adapts to all your needs.

Inside the van, the single-piece dashboard is a key safety feature in itself. Its honeycomb structure made from polypropylene, an extremely absorbent material, reduces injury to the knees in case of impact. Meanwhile, the rounded forms of the lower part of the dashboard and cubby-hole lid marry the shape of the tibia to spread out the forces resulting from an impact across the legs and ankles. The structure of the seats holds the occupants’ groins in the ideal position, while padding beneath the driver’s and front passenger’s feet protects the lower limbs. In case of impact from the side, the structure of the B-pillar protects the occupant’s groin in addition to the work that has gone into optimizing the seats’ lateral strength and the positioning of padding inside the door panel. Careful attention has also been paid to protecting occupants from the consequences of rear impact: the fuel tank is located away from the rear underneath the floor with a view to limiting intrusion of the substructure and running gear.

The two words that struck very well with the Logan have to be “modern” and “posh”. Why so? If you’re familiar with Renault, the first thing you’ll notice is how much the Logan resembles it’s pleasant looking modern architecture on wheels.

The Logan is a much more easy-to-swallow and practical looking MCV, if you were to compare it with the hordes of MCV in the current market now. It’s neither overly square-ish nor too curvy, and based on that alone, the Logan should sway some potential buyers in its direction.

Sum up
If you’re in the market for what is now the new generation of MPV, Renault’s Logan makes a really good argument for itself. It has comfort, space and maximum MCV-style flexibility. Oh, and one other nice touch – there’s the super large panoramic glass roof just so you can let everyone in the car have a good view of everything above them.
