Tragedy struck at Agege on Boxing Day when a 24 year- old part time student of Lagos State Polytechnic, Oluwaseun Dada Festus was stabbed to death by three miscreants popularly known as area boys following a fight over a girl.
Residents who witnessed the incident said the event that lead to the death of the deceased started on Christmas day when youth in the area organised a carnival.
According to them, during the carnival, the deceased elder brother had engaged some area boys in a fight over attempt to snatch his girlfriend from him.
Narrating the incident to P.M.NEWS, one of the witnesses who does not want his name mentioned said: “Festus’s brother had a fight with some area boys on Christmas day during the carnival party. The fight was over his girlfriend but it was quickly settled that day.
“But, to everyone’s surprise, on Boxing Day the area boys came after the deceased in retaliation and stabbed him on his hand. Before people discovered him where he was stabbed, he had bled to death.â€
Police at Elere station have arrested the three area boys and are still conducting further investigation on the incident.
