Solomon Olaniyi, father of recuperating Plateau United midfielder, Olayinka, who was a victim of the Christmas eve bomb blast in Jos, is upbeat that his child would soon return to action after undergoing a successful surgery at the Benue University Teaching Hospital, BUTH.
Olayinka’s dad said that despite the fact that his son is still writhing in pains after the first surgery on Tuesday and the rumour that he may not play football again, he is optimistic that the combative midfielder would sooner than later be on his feet to play the game.
The father, who claimed to be an ex-footballer told P.M.Sports: “I’ll do what I can to encourage my child to play football again. Although he is in pains at the Benue University Teaching Hospital, I know with the right words of encouragement from me he would return to the field of play in the near future.â€
The father added that he has always encouraged his children to take up football as a career, insisting that he believes that what he could not achieve during his days as a footballer, his children would achieve it.
He revelaed that Olayinka’s younger brother plies his trade with Gombe United in the Nigerian Premier League.
