FRSC Boss Distributes Handbills Along Lokoja Highway

In line with the Operation zero and Ember Safe Month strategies aimed at achieving drastic reduction in road crashes especially during the yuletide  and the new year, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osita Chidoka, has distributed safety handbills to drivers and commuters during a foot patrol along the Lokoja highway.

The Corps Marshal who had a brief stop-over at Lokoja from an aerial patrol and monitoring of traffic situations across the country, stated that foot patrol and handbills distribution was necessary in view of the need to complement patrol activities and enforcement of traffic regulations with public enlightenment campaigns to further shore up safety consciousness during the season, among road users.

On aerial patrols which took the Corps Marshal and other stakeholders from the Air Force and Police high Command through Lokoja, Onitsha head bridge, Obollo Afor and 9th mile, Chidoka added that the aerial patrol was designed to enhance and complement the Corps’ monitoring and co-ordination of its nationwide ground patrols as part of measures towards evolving a multi-dimensional approach for traffic management during the yuletide.
