Lagos Monarch, 5 Others To Be Arraigned For Murder

An Ikeja High Court, Lagos, has adjourned till 11 January, 2011, the arraignment of the Alayobo of Ayobo in Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area of  Lagos State, Oba Arole Idowu Ojoijo and five others for alleged murder.

In suit ID/205C/2010, the royal father and five others, Chief Najeem Tiamiyu Bada, Mojudeen Anisere, Tajudeen Balogun, Yusuf Adeyinka and Dayo Akinrinade,  were alleged to have murdered Biodun Ololo Oyejobi and Muritala Jinadu on 10 July, 2010.

When the trial judge, Justice (Mrs.) Lateefat Okunnu called for the arraignment of the suspects on 20 December, 2010, the prosecuting counsel, Femi Adamson,o  leading two other state counsels, said they were only able to serve the third accused, Mojudeen Anisere, notice of arraignment and in pursuant of Section 256  (6) of the Administration of Criminal Justice, Adamson requested that the defendants be served the notice through their lead counsel, Kunle Adegoke, who  accepted to serve his clients the notice, while introducing Prescila Arowolo (Mrs.) and Olanrewaju Momodu as other members of the defence team.

Based on the agreement, Justice Okunnu adjourned till 11 January, 2011 for the arraignment of the suspects.

Oba Ojoijo and five others were charged to the Ikeja High Court on 22 November, 2010 on a two-count charge of murder and conspiracy to murder, but were  absent in court, prompting an adjournment.
