In a condolence letter to the family of the deceased, Governor Fashola paid glowing tribute to the renowned musician who, according to him, “combined hard work and dedication with unusual creativity to carve a niche for himself as a singer and songwriter”.  “An exceptional human being and music maestro who goes by the inimitable sobriquet name, Alhaji Agba, in recognition of his talent, Alhaji Ayinde Balogun represents a worthy role model who revolutionized our indigenous music and brought it to international limelight”, Governor Fashola noted.

Describing him as a cultural champion, Governor Fashola asserted, “His pioneering work in fashioning out the popular Fuji music genre has been a source of great inspiration to scores of new generation musicians who, today, are making waves across the world and further spreading the message of Nigeria to the international community”.

“Indeed, this cultural icon and patriot who served in the Nigerian Army during a testy period in the nation’s history will be sorely missed by his numerous fans and all Nigerian music lovers and particularly in the music industry where the vacuum of his departure will be very difficult to feel”, the Governor said.

Governor Fashola prayed that the Almighty Allah would grant the entire Ayinde Balogun family the fortitude to bear the sad loss and admit the departed into Al-Janah Firdaus.
