Voter Registration Exercise: Senator Advises Lagosians To Register

Senator Ganiu Olarewanju Solomon has urged Lagosians to register for the 2011 general elections.

Alhaji Lateef Bello, who represented the senator, made this call at the first Ojokoro Festival hosted by the Ojokoro Development Forum (ODF) recently.

Bello, who said the opening prayers, also urged the stakeholders to encourage residents of the state to register for the elections .

Speaking about the festival, Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo vowed to the community that by next year all groups, stakeholders, religious leaders in Ojokoroland will be involved in the festival.

Olabinjo also promised to unveil the Ojokoro festival brand, which has a picture of the brave hunter, Ojugbele Adeitan, the first person to settle in the area.

The event was graced by Hon. Bola Badmus- Oluyobi, Deputy Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly; Mr. Benjamini Adeyemi Olabinyo, Chairman, Ojokoro Local Government; Hon. Chief A. I. Omisore, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Ifako Ijaye Constituency 02 and Oba Nurudeen Adekanbi, Oba of Olofin Isheriland, among other Oba’s and Baale’s of Lagos State.

Cultural entertainment was done by the South South Cultural Groups and music rendered by Mega 99, a member of the performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN.

The personal assistant to Oba Rilwan Oluwalambe Taiwo, Oba of Ojokoroland Comrade Tunde Alex, gave a vote of thanks to round off the event.
