Nigerian Muslims have been urged to learn to forgive, no matter the situation, as a forgiving heart will never lack.
Alhaji Imam-Abdul Fatai Popoola and Imam Abdul Rahman Sulaiman Adanga, both Muslim scholars, gave the admonition during their lectures at the celebration of the Muslim new year. The lecturers also advised the general public to register for the next election and vote for the candidate of their choice.
The event, organised by the Jama’ul Muslimeen Council of Lagos, Nigeria, took place at the Lagos Central Mosque. Dignitaries at the event included Oba of Lagos Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola who was represented by Alhaji Muhammed Danmole.
Muslims recently celebrated the new year worldwide, Hijirah 1432AH. Hijrah is a new calendar, starting from Muharam. It is determined by the moon, also known as Lunar month.
