A group, Lagos State Liberation Congress, LASLIC, has called on the Action Congress  of Nigeria, ACN, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Nigeria  Police to investigate allegations of certificate forgery and misappropriation of  public funds levelled against the Chairman of the Orile-Agege Local Government  Development Council, LCDA, Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo.

Chairman of the group, Mr. Balogun said the body was ready to stage a protest to the  ACN secretariat, Acme Road and the State House of Assembly if nothing was done about  the allegations against the chairman.

“Tomorrow, we are organising a demonstration. We will march to the Governor’s  Office, state party secretariat and EFCC office to submit a letter requesting a full  scale probe into the Adaranijo Administration.

We have made our allegations and we challenge him to contradict them and go to the  court. Balogun showed newsmen documents, including the survey plan of the council  building, alleging that they had a catalogue of misappropriation of funds by the  council chairman.

He called on Adaranijo to resign from office if he could not prove his innocence on  the allegations. However, Media Adviser to Adaranijo, Mr. Tunde Scot, said the  allegations against his boss were completely false.

“We challenge those behind this faceless group to come out, if they are man enough.  We will not submit to their blackmail,” he stated.
