Agege To Wear New Look

Residents of Agege will soon smile as the state government has concluded arrangement  to upgrade the area.

Revealing this at an interactive forum at the Agege Local Government secretariat,  General Manager of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Authority (LASURA), Mr. Yusuf  Sulaimon, confirmed that Agege would soon wear a new look.

According to Sulaimon, Agege environment, especially Keke area, which is close to  the Agege Stadium, will be upgraded with modern facilities.

“The project is all about upgrading the Keke area of Agege which is very close to  the new Agege Stadium, all with the hope of improving the environment, the  structures and uplifting the living standard of the people,” Sulaimon stated.

The LASURA boss disclosed that the community also has a major role to play in this  regard and called on companies to contribute their quota to the development of area.

Blocked drainages and houses blocking drainages are to be removed during the  exercise, he added.

“This project will involve improving on structures. We have to change the roofs,  redecorate the buildings and provide roads and drainages. In most cases, we have to  ensure that the roads are straight, while blocked drainages are removed and make the  environment function,” he disclosed further.

Participants at the forum included Baale David Ajagun, representatives of Berger  Paints and Nigerite, among others.
