Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre has commissioned a new church, the Elevation Church, to be headed by Pastor Godman Akinlabi.
The commissioning of the new church took place at the present location of the church, at Magnolia Hall, City mall, Onikan Lagos, on 28 December 2010.
Pastor Akinlabi is a native of Igbora, Oyo State. He grew up in Ibadan, where he attended Government College, Ibadan. He went to Federal University of Technology Akure for his 1st degree, University of Lagos for his master degree in International Diplomacy and University of Manchester Business School for Education.
Godman has worked with Pastor Adeyemi since the last 12 years as an ushering pastor, teacher, trainer, facilitator and preacher.
Speaking with Pastor Godman, he described the Elevation church as a church with great vision to raise people to the highest level of greatness and distinction.
He also said that the one thing that stands the church out of others is the simplicity with which they deploy the power and gift of God.
Present at the event were pastors from different churches, Teju Babyface, a producer and song writer Cobhams Asuquo, who wrote the church anthem.
