Chief Coach of Starlet Football Club of Ijesha, Athan Umoette, is confident that his team will go all out for victory when they clash with Oshoboke Football Club in the opening group match of Team Manager’s Cup.
The crucial encounter will hold this evening at the Olympic Football Pitch, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Umoette boasted that his team are ready to defend the title won last year, saying that anything short of victory in today’s encounter will be a huge blow to their supporters.
“It is going to be a tough match because Oshoboke are a good team. I have seen them play and we respect them. However, it will not be good if we start our opening match on a shaky note,†he said.
The coach warned his players not to be complacent and challenged them to win all their matches if they want to defend the title won last year.
The Match Coordinator, Saturday Okon, urged the participating teams to abide by the rules and regulations of the game, saying that any club found wanting will be sanctioned.
“The TM’s Cup is not a do-or die competition. Any team that misbehave during or after the match will be punished. We don’t want to condone any act of indiscipline from any club,†he said.
