One of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP)’s presidential aspirants for the 2011 elections, Sarah Jibril, has blamed lack of political will of leaders as the reason Nigerians have not started enjoying the expected dividends of democracy .
She pointed out that the country is backward because leaders have refused to put resources into proper use.
She, however, promised to rescue the country from shackles of bad leadership that rubbished the polity over the years.
Addressing media men in Kaduna at the Nigerian Union of Journalists Secretariat , Kaduna, Jibril expressed sadness over the manner past presidents have refused to use the political power vested in them to better the lots of Nigerians.
She assured the electorate that if elected , the prevailing hard times facing the citizens would be resolved once and for all.
She also urged Nigerians to vote a woman to lead them for the first time, adding that “ the men have failed us and a mother would make that difference.
However, she said a cabal in the PDP might want to stop her, knowing what she will do if she wins the primaries . But according to her, if EFCC and ICPC carry out a thorough screening of other aspirants , she is sure she would emerge as PDP’s presidential flag bearer.
