The Ejigbo football team are back to their winning ways after losing the three matches played earlier in the ongoing Lagos Junior League.
In the last two matches the club played recently, Ejigbo defeated Onigbongbo LCDA football team 4-2 and went ahead to humble Orile Agege football team 5-3 to keep their hope alive.
Ejigbo, that started their Junior League campaign on a poor note, however sent a warning signal to Oshodi football team in their next game. The club’s new form means that their opponents must prepare for tough battle when both teams clash on Sunday at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash, Ejigbo Chief Coach, Gbenga Bolaji said having lost three matches in a row, his team are back on their feet. He said the players have realised their past mistakes and are ready to give Oshodi a run for their money come Sunday.
“My players are going to play the game of their lives when they confront Oshodi on Sunday.
“We have come a long way and cannot afford to lose our next match. The players are in high spirits and ready to go for victory in their remaining matches,†said Bolaji who vowed to tear Oshodi apart.
Speaking on the match, Public Relation Officer, PRO of the council, Olasimbo Uviesherhe expressed satisfaction over the team’s performance in their last two matches.
She said the council boss, Kehinde Bamgbetan was happy about the victories and promised to reward the team financially if they win their next match.
“The staff and management of the Ejigbo Council were relieved after the team won their last two matches. My council chairman, Bamgbetan rewarded the team financially for a job well done,†she said.
