Senator Adego Eferakeya (ACN-Delta central), says he left the PDP because of  unresolved crisis in the party in the state.

Eferakeya, who defected from the PDP to the ACN, told the News Agency of Nigeria  (NAN) that the crisis resulted from the manner in which the executive committee of  the party in the state was put in place.

“There has been crisis in Delta State chapter of the PDP. The executive committees  from the ward to the state levels were put in place without any congress.

“As a matter of fact, what I am saying now is substantiated by INEC letter saying  that among the eight states where there were no congresses, Delta State was one of  them and as expected in 2008, there were two factions in the state,” he said.

He said that the former National Chairman of the party, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor,  asked the other faction to go and work with the executive committee put in place  without any congress, in spite of protests from members.

“Ogbulafor tried to intervene at the last minute but when everybody was seated, he  said go and work with Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan executive committee.

“He is the man at the helm of affairs, so whom are you going to complain to. We were  waiting for an opportunity and that came when Ogbulafor was changed and Dr.  Okwesilieze Nwodo came in.

“We went again on July 27 to protest. As a matter of fact, there was even a public  protest saying that we cannot work with the committee.

“Funny enough, remember when the INEC timetable came in the first time asking  parties to go and conduct their primaries, this matter was not resolved,” he said.
