The maiden edition of face of sugarebabes, a beauty pageant that aims at showcasing the African woman as intelligent and beautiful, will take place on 11 December, 2010 in Lagos, Nigeria, the pageant’s coordinator, Miss Rosemary Ugbor, has disclosed.
Ugbor disclosed that 15 contestants will be short listed in this first edition and five African queens will be crowned at a gala night at Hotels 1960 in Ikeja, Lagos.
The star prize will include a brand new lap browser and an expensive treasury box, she said.
Participants must be intelligent, beautiful and talented in a particular field, Ugbor said.
“Those who feel that they are very good at dancing will dance and those who believe that they are good at singing will sing. Participants must also be familiar with the history and occurrences in their state of origin. At the end of the day, we aim at bringing out the hidden talent in each of the contestants,†she said.
The application forms are already available at designated areas in Lagos, Ugbor said.
