Jonathan To Commission Food Factory

All is set for the commissioning of the new multi-billion naira cocoa products  factory, Multi-Trex Integrated Food Plc.

The factory, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Warewa, Ogun State, is  scheduled for commissioning on Friday, 12 November 12, 2010 by President Goodluck  Jonathan in the course of his official visit to the state.

The company’s Executive Vice Chairman, Dimeji Owofemi, said the N8 billion factory  was embarked upon to expand its product lines and boost its market share.

He disclosed that the new plant will usher in an era whereby Nigerians will for the  first time begin to enjoy the taste of real cocoa drinks as against the current  situation where they have assess only to cocoa flavoured drinks.

Multi-Trex, founded in 1999, recently listed its shares on the floor of the Nigerian  Stock Exchange, NSE.

According to figures made available to the media, it achieved a profit after tax of  N219.6 million and a turnover of N3.1 billion in its latest financial year end.

Also, it has set up a subsidiary company in Zambia to enable it adequately explore  business opportunities in the East and Southern African countries.
