All is set for the commissioning of the new multi-billion naira cocoa productsÂ factory, Multi-Trex Integrated Food Plc.
The factory, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Warewa, Ogun State, isÂ scheduled for commissioning on Friday, 12 November 12, 2010 by President GoodluckÂ Jonathan in the course of his official visit to the state.
The companyâ€™s Executive Vice Chairman, Dimeji Owofemi, said the N8 billion factoryÂ was embarked upon to expand its product lines and boost its market share.
He disclosed that the new plant will usher in an era whereby Nigerians will for theÂ first time begin to enjoy the taste of real cocoa drinks as against the currentÂ situation where they have assess only to cocoa flavoured drinks.
Multi-Trex, founded in 1999, recently listed its shares on the floor of the NigerianÂ Stock Exchange, NSE.
According to figures made available to the media, it achieved a profit after tax ofÂ N219.6 million and a turnover of N3.1 billion in its latest financial year end.
Also, it has set up a subsidiary company in Zambia to enable it adequately exploreÂ business opportunities in the East and Southern African countries.
