A member of the House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Dayo Bush-Alebiosu has handed over to his constituency seven transformers, block of classrooms and boreholes.
Several communities and streets in the area have benefited from the constituency projects initiated by the lawmaker.
The projects include the inauguration of several transformers to boost electricity distribution in the Federal Constituency, handing over of block of classrooms to Oworonshoki Primary School, water projects, including the multi-million naira motorised borehole and several hand-held boreholes to many areas within the constituency.
Some of the benefitting communities are in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and Kosofe Local Government.
A total of five transformers and accessories were commissioned for the use of residents of Aladelola Street, Ikosi Ketu; Kukoyi by Church Street, Alapere, Ketu; Otunba Taofik Oyesiji Street, Ifako, Gbagada and other areas.
Water projects handed to residents of the Federal Constituency included the N15 million motorised borehole at Yetunde Brown, Ifako-Gbagada and a handheld borehole at Solomon Street in Ketu area of the constituency.
Residents of the area commended Bush Alebiosu for the gesture, saying that the projects commissioned would provide succour to their various communities, especially the perennial power failure due to insufficient distribution transformers, which had led to load shedding by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.
An artisan, Fatai Adekunle who specialises in welding said the transformer provided to his area would go a long way in boosting his business “because there will be more light which will translate to increased jobs from his clients.â€
Another beneficiary, a petty trader, Mrs. Janet Nwachukwu said the motorised borehole project in her area would reduce the amount of money her family spent on procurement of water from vendors in the area.
A youth leader in Kosofe, Osuolale Ariyo also described the initiative of the lawmaker as an inspiration to the younger generation as he had always put his people first since he was made their representative in 2007 and expressed the support of Kosofe youths in the re-election bid of Bush-Alebiosu for another term in office.
Speaking with newsmen after the three-day tour, the donor, Bush Alebiosu described the projects as people-driven.
According to him, he consulted widely with the people of the Federal Constituency, especially the community leaders on the amenities they needed most in their areas before he swung into action.
The lawmaker pointed out that electricity, water, health and educational amenities were accorded priority because the people of his constituency believed that if these issues were addressed, their essential needs would have been adequately addressed
