The office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad Command at Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, southwest Nigeria, was agog at the weekend when members of the command, including the CP in charge, Mr. Jubril Adeniji, held a party to honour DSP John Akande who retired recently from the Nigeria Police Force after serving the mandatory 35 years.
Speaking at the occasion, CP Adeniji said, “John Akande was a diligent, hard working, responsible and loyal police officer. We held the party for him as a way of appreciating his good work and also to encourage his colleagues to emulate him and do better. We have been able to achieve a lot because of the hard work of the present rank and file in the command including the retiring Akande.”
According to ASP Lekan Ogundare, the PPRO, FSARS, DSP Akande was a professional police officer worth emulating. “We decided to give him back the good service he rendered to the FSARS.”
